I remember the times where I thought going into UW or FoW was a once in a lifetime chance
and when flashing your deer would impress 90% of the GW crowd
and when I had been chestrunning for 15 hours without a break

I remember getting one of the first crystalline swords and nobody knew what it was. Everyone was so new to the game, people were poor and nobody wanted to give me more than 3k for it :P

I remember when farming was the easiest and best way to make a quick buck.
I remember when there were no Battle Isle, Cantha, and Elona.

When Sissy Boys [sB] held favor for America for hours on end.
When you could use ether renewal to get maintained enchantments on everyone. That was just too much fun.
When I could solo UW on a 55 (protective bond) and get 5-8 ectos a run. Unlike now where I can't even get 1.
When golds were rare, non-inscribable, and actually worth something.
Getting my first gold and screamed like a girl even though the mods were utter trash.
Getting a max req 7 item.
Farming anything could make you a decent amount of cash.
Trying to ascend and failing multiple times till I finally got it. Best learning experience.
When pugs were actually good because people listened instead of being jackasses.

When it was a pain in the ass to capture ANYTHING. You had the window when they were using it, and that was all.
When you were stuck with small party sizes for 75% of the game; Cantha and Elona have you at 8 level 20s in no time flat.
When Fur and Leather were rare, and you could make a killing off all the warriors who needed it for their armor.
When there weren't wikis with every bit of information at your beck and call.
When there was no pinging of builds, and everyone just let you play your own damned character how you wanted. >_<
When there were more real people available to PUG a mission than henchmen. =/
(also: pugs were never good, it's just there were more people so it was easier to find a larger percentage of decent folk)
Oh man, remember trying to find a decent group to run Villainy of Galrath? Poison swamps, undead, minotaurs, trolls, and then the horde of cultists. Crazy goodtimes.
Obviously this is still present in Prophecies, but Factions and Nightfall got rid of having to quest for your skills. They just became extra experience you did, sometimes, if you happened across one. No more skill discovery/building. One of my favourite things about EOTN is being able to get your PVE skills via questing, and no other way.

Back in '05:
I remember thinking pre-searing was the game.
Hearing about some place called Droks far far away.
Taking forever to complete THK.
When rangers were hated by a lot of ppl.
Farming ettins endlessly for a sup vigor or absorption.
Farming griffons.
Farming bleached shells so I could get a crimson carapace shield.
Attribute refund points.
First time I saw someone spam several weapon sets and his health and energy. I thought how in the hell are they typing so fast.
No chests required a key.

That was you??!?!??!?!
When people in PreSearing didn't know what was after the academy, or that there even WAS an academy, and eveyone wondering what the hell to do after they got their secondary professions and all the quests were over.
Every 5 minutes someone asked "is this it? This is what I paid for?"
The days before minipets. When Celestial Sigils were the top dollar item, runes were actually rare, and people actually played the missions/quests in the Maguuma jungle.
